about

Like the road and radio mentioned in the lyrics, we wanted the track to sound like a driving-song you’d hear if you flicked on the radio a few decades ago whilst traveling cross country. Some elements were re-recorded through a cassette machine, harking back to the John Hughes-movie era that we believe ‘Long Road’ is reminiscent of.

lyrics

Oh I know
Yeah it’s easier for some
They got everything you want
Wish it was easier, just easier

But I can’t change
‘Cause it’s me
And it’s all I’ll ever be
And I can’t blame you, yeah I can’t blame you

So start the engine in the cold
You say it’s nice to see me, though
You won’t share my ride home
I’ll be traveling alone

You put some music on the radio
You’re singing loud and driving slow
You’ll be sailing under stars
On your long road in his arms

Oh I know
I was missing all the signs
Crossing all the lines
Losing touch, given up

But I can’t change
‘Cause it’s me
And it’s all I’ll ever be
And I will miss you, yeah I will miss you

So start the engine in the cold
You say it’s nice to see me, though
You won’t share my ride home
I’ll be traveling alone

You put some music on the radio
You’re singing loud and driving slow
You’ll be sailing under stars
On your long road in his arms

So start the engine in the cold
You say it’s nice to see me, though
You won’t share my ride home
I’ll be traveling alone

You put some music on the radio
You’re singing loud and driving slow
You’ll be sailing under stars
On your long road in his arms
